Flizzr Rental Terms for travel between 01-Apr-2018 and 31-Dec-2019

General Rental Information
The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving license. The
driver has to be in possession of a valid driving license for at least 1 year.
Driving licenses from non-EU countries (except Switzerland) are accepted if: a) no visa has been entered in the
passport. b) the customer has a visa in his passport and at the time of hire has not been in Europe for longer than
6 months. If he has been in Europe for longer than 6 months, he must present a driving license from an EU
country. Driving license printed with non-Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic etc) must be complemented
by an International driving license.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at the time of pick up!

Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates 

Changing booking
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge
of 25.00 EUR. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be
refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

A booking can be canceled before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made
towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount
of the rental charge (including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. Cancellations can be made

In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time the rental charge already paid
shall be withheld in full.

Age Restrictions
In Portugal, the follow ing rules apply for the minimum age and possession of a driver's license:
19 years/1 year for vehicles in groups MDMR, MDAR, ECMR, EDMR, EXMR, CCMR, CDMR, CDAR, CWMR, CTMR,
A Young Driver Surcharge of EUR 7.50- per day, max. EUR 74.99 applies for drivers under 25 years.

Conditions of Payment

Flexi Tariff
We accept all credit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners
Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa and Unibanco.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron).

The follow ing credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, AmericanExpress Card, VISA Card, Diners Club. We do

The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. The authorized driver details and method of payment will be
confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for
presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit
card. By booking of a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the start of rental, directly with the estimated
total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of rental as well as all
additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed such as, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport
charges etc.) plus value-added tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be
paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.

In addition to the estimated rental amount, an advance charge approval is obtained on the credit card as a security. The
exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

General Protection Conditions

Third Party Insurance (TI)
Protection coverage for the vehicle includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of 50 EUR Million for personal
injuries and material damages. The hirer is liable up to the maximum amount of liability for accidents caused by the
hirer, damage caused by parking, theft or any damage caused by an unknown third party.
Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the
rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle
does not possess the required driver's license at the time of the event giving rise to claim.

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the driver’s responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or
theft. All rates include LDW. The customer is only responsible for the follow ing amounts:

Top Cover LDW
If LDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose Top Cover LDW to reduce the nonwaivable

Tyre and Windscreen Coverage (TG)
Tyre and Windscreen Coverage provides cover against the consequences of damages on tires, windscreen,
side windows and back window.
The cost of TG is as follow s: see table
If TG is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of damages on tires, windscreen, side
windows and back window. If TG is accepted, customer is only responsible for the follow ing amounts: 0.00 EUR

Personal Accident Protection (PAP)
By taking out personal accident protection the protection can also be extended to cover the consequences of
an accident.
The cost of PAP is as follow s: see table
By taking out PAP the limit of liability is: 10,000.00 EUR for invalidity, 10,000.00 EUR for decease, 1,000.00 EUR
for medical costs.

Delivery & Collection
Delivery/Collection Service is on request. Please contact the local rental station.
A charge of 70.00 EUR applies. The fee includes 10 km, each additional kilometer will be calculated with 0.60 EUR.

Out Of Hours
An Out Of Hours surcharge of 60.00 EUR occurs for bookings out of opening hours.

One-Way Rentals

Free of charge from the fourth day of rental. For shorter rentals a charge of 50.00 EUR applies.

One-way-Rentals are not allowed.

Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are on request only. Please contact the local rental
station. Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the follow ing countries:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg,
Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
In case of offense against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions, all protections lose their validity.

Foreign Use Charge
A foreign use charge of 75.00 EUR applies for each month or part thereof.

Personal Travel Assistant - PTA
The PTA WIFI includes GPS, a tourist guide and a WIFI access point (up to 5 devices) with mobile internet.
The PTA PLUS includes GPS, a city guide, a WIFI access point (up to 5 devices), mobile internet and unlimited free
calls all over the world.

Additional Driver
An Additional Driver Surcharge of 6.00 EUR per day, max. 60.00 EUR for each month or part thereof applies.

Refuelling Charge
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to FLIZZR. If the renter did not
purchase the FPO (Fuel Purchase Option) an additional service charge of 30.00 EUR will be applied in addition to the
petrol shortage.
Alternatively, you may purchase a tankful of fuel at the time of rental at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations
and return the tank empty. No refunds will be given for unused fuel.

Roadside Assistance
Roadside assistance is provided 24/7 (365 days).
Our Roadside Protection is an extended breakdown protection during the car rental in Portugal and protects the contract
holder against high service and repair costs for the following incidents:
1) Key locked inside the vehicle: In the event of the key being locked inside the vehicle, Sixt will assume the costs to
open the vehicle and for the vehicle to be towed away and for a replacement vehicle.
2) Breakdown caused by lack of fuel: In the event of a breakdown due to having run out of fuel, Sixt will assume the
costs for the breakdown assistance and fuel required for the onward journey.
3) Assistance due to flat battery: In the event of assistance with starting being needed, Sixt will assume the costs for
assistance (by the vehicle manufacturer or one of its partners).
4) Loss of key: In the event of a lost key, Sixt shall assume the costs for providing a spare key, the transport/shipping of
the spare key, for the vehicle to be towed away and for a replacement vehicle.
5) Immobilization of the Vehicle: In the event that it is not possible to move the vehicle (eg due to wintery road
conditions). Sixt will assume the costs for the vehicle to be towed away and for a replacement vehicle.
6) Misfuelled vehicle: Sixt will assume the costs for the vehicle to be towed away, for the cleaning of the fuel tank and its
All services may only be ordered by a direct claim w ith Sixt Portugal. We will determine the type and extent of service
required to ensure the client can continue the journey. If any damage on the rental vehicle occurs, which is not covered
by Sixt within the scope of the Roadside Protection, the renter is liable for such damage.

All our vehicles are equipped with an electronic toll device. This service allow s automatic payment of all fees due for
passing through any electronic toll barrier. Subscription is made at the counter at the beginning of the rental (pick up)
and toll expenses will be automatically paid in your credit card without any additional cost.

Other Fees and Taxes

Local rental surcharge
A local rental surcharge of 1.05 EUR per day occurs.

Administration Fee For Fine
If the renter has a traffic/parking fine during the rental the renter will be charged an Administration Fee of 50.00 EUR
together with the first settlement-proposition.
The renter is liable for payment of all traffic/parking fines occurring during the rental.

Vehicle Cleaning
The vehicle must return in acceptable clean conditions.
For vehicles that are not returned in acceptable clean conditions (i.e. extra cleaning time/means are needed to clean the
car for next rental) 60.00 EUR will be charged.
In case the car requires a special cleaning procedure (i.e. smell removal, animal pollution, spill of liquids etc.) after
returning, a minimum charge of 150.00 EUR will apply.

23% Portugal Mainland
All rates include tax/VAT (if incurred). For corporate customers with individual agreements, alternative prices and
regulations can apply.

The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable. 

If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
